The good consequences of Internet use include enhanced self-confidence, increased frequency of communication with family and friends, and feelings of empowerment. Mobile, online and networked technologies bring enormous opportunities for pleasure and communication, knowledge-seeking and exchange. On the other hand, lack of digital literacy and online safety measures is also exposing the children to – Hazards of cybercrimes like cyber bullying, cyber stalking, identity theft, sexual predation and other crimes

Concern about compulsive or excessive internet use (‘addiction’) has also grown.
