Mobile, online and networked technologies bring enormous opportunities for pleasure and communication, knowledge-seeking and exchange. On the other hand, lack of digital literacy and online safety measures is also exposing the children to – Hazards of cybercrimes like cyber bullying, cyber stalking, identity theft, sexual predation and other crimes

Also, heavy and inappropriate internet use has been associated with potential side effects, such as loss of control over the use of the Internet, adverse effects on other daily activities, emotional status and communication among family members. Concern about compulsive or excessive internet use (‘addiction’) has also grown.
